The projects below received the greatest number of votes from our Massy employees in this region and will therefore proceed to the final stage for disbursing the grants. During this stage further criteria will be reviewed to assure regulatory adherence.
The children of today are the future leaders of tomorrow. If this grant is given to the school, it will be an opportunity for the students to work in a more conducive learning environment. This project aims at repairing the school.
La Ressource RC Combined School’s focus is to establish a safe and supportive learning environment that offers holistic education tailored to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. This school aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a dynamic society.
“When I saw the exterior of the school needed a facelift and some painting, I decided to visit the school and noticed there are additional things that need to be done to make learning more fun and enjoyable and most importantly safe.”
This project is geared towards financially supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration programs at the centre which helps young males who have been in conflict with the law become reintegrated into society as productive and contributing citizens. This rehabilitation and reintegration are facilitated through programs encompassing therapy, community involvement/service, academics, vocational programs, agricultural programs, and sports.
The Boys Training Centre (BTC) is a juvenile rehabilitation and detention center that accommodates boys in conflict with the law and those in need of care and protection. Over time, the BTC has expanded its services to include therapy sessions, technical and vocational programs, agriculture, and sports opportunities for the wards.
“The Boys Training Center over the years has helped out many young boys who have found it difficult in life by giving them proper guidance and motivation. So, I am hoping with this grant it can help them provide more assistance to the male youth.”
The The Grow Well Project senior hamper project aims at providing food hampers to seniors/elderly citizens .This project will positively make a difference in the lives of the Seniors /EIderIy citizens in the Grow Islet district by providing and assisting our Seniors obtain food stuff and other needy items.
The Grow Well Project is a non-profit organization that aims to address the rising number of “youth at risk” and the lack of adequate social support resources. They achieve this by implementing a system of support that involves community participation and utilizes community resources to provide assistance and guidance to vulnerable youth.
“This project will help bring the youth and senior members of the community together by helping both sets form a deeper and better understanding of the other.”
This project will aid in:
1. The reduction of the financial expense of the school feeding program and enhance existing school feeding program in both quantity and quality of produce.
2.Foster a greater appreciation for local produce and to encourage healthy eating.
3. The availability of a variety of fruits , vegetables and ground provisions.
4.The reactivation to provide a fresh water fish pond.
5.The engagement of students on gardening/farming skills. 6. Provide financial assistance to school from the surplus being sold to the wider community.
The Grand Riviere Primary School is an educational institution located in Saint Lucia, situated in close proximity to the Grande Riviere Bridge.
“The need for the organization to become self sufficient/self reliant in providing the less fortunate students with healthy meal and the opportunity for the students to participate in the process allowing them to enhance their skills.”
This project will enable the less fortunate kids an opportunity to be able to attend the new school year, focus and make a difference in their lives and in the lives of others.
This main objective of this organization is to foster the social, sporting, educational, and cultural development of the youth in Canaries, St. Lucia.
“Growing up in a fishing village and knowing what it is like having to start the new school year with your basic supplies, I would like to make a difference for these other kids who are going through the same. I am also the one who initiated the back-to-school program. For the past 2 years we have been able to donate about 70 bag backs and school supplies, uniforms and school shoes to the less fortunate.”
Many suffer from this illness and are unaware of it or of treatment options. This project will provide persons with information about the illness that is critical to survival.
The St. Lucia Sickle Cell Association is focused on educating, counseling, and raising awareness about Sickle Cell Disease among the general public and the medical profession. They provide efficient services through their clinic and Outreach Programme to support members with the condition. Additionally, the organization collaborates with government, private sector companies, and similar institutions to enhance healthcare related to Sickle Cell Disease.
