The projects below received the greatest number of votes from our Massy employees in this region and will therefore proceed to the final stage for disbursing the grants. During this stage further criteria will be reviewed to assure regulatory adherence.
This program supports children who are in need of food security on the weekends when they are not in school. It helps families feel cared for, attendance is better, learning is easier and there are fewer behavioral issues at school when children are not dealing with weekend hunger pangs.
Blessings in a Backpack provides food and nutritional support to children facing food insecurity. They aim to bridge the gap and ensure that vulnerable children have access to meals over the weekends when they are not in school. By distributing backpacks filled with food, the organization helps these children have nourishment and experience a positive impact on their health and well-being.
“Blessings in a Backpack First Coast Chapter works to reach all local kids all throughout the North Florida. They partner with schools feeding 5500 kids a week in 45 schools. Supporting this program is an effective way to make a large impact on school-aged children in the surrounding counties facing food insecurity.”
Feeding Northeast Florida serves communities in Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns Counties. Their mission is to provide additional food resources to meet the needs of families and individuals in Northeast Florida who struggle with food insecurity. With the support they receive, they are able to serve over 85,000 community neighbors daily, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.
Feeding Northeast Florida is the largest and most efficient food bank serving several counties in Florida. They collaborate with retail partners, manufacturers, and farms to rescue high-quality food for individuals in need. Through the support of the community and generous partners, they can purchase additional food resources to meet the needs of families and individuals in Northeast Florida who face food insecurity.

Catholic Charities Jacksonville’s refugee resettlement program is committed to helping refugee families start their new lives on a positive note. Upon their arrival, the program ensures they have a safe place to live, along with furniture, food, and other living essentials. The refugees are then connected with vital services such as health screenings, English classes, employment assistance, and benefits support.
This organization provides emergency financial assistance, food aid, immigration legal services, and refugee resettlement. Additionally, they offer care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences. Through these actions, they aim to transform lives and put their beliefs into practice.
