The project aims to enhance inclusive education by empowering families to support children and adolescents with disabilities in Barranquilla. It will utilize a family training methodology involving two booklets addressing rights, barriers to education access, care pathways, and family-school relationship commitments. The initiative targets training 150 leading families, who will subsequently undertake actions to promote inclusive education in their respective educational institutions. The general objective is to contribute to the development of families and educational environments through a practical booklet on the right to inclusive education. The specific goal is to educate families of children with disabilities to ensure the right to inclusive education. The expected outcomes include the creation and printing of 150 booklets titled “Education as a Right” and “The Role of the Family in Inclusive Education,” both bearing the logos of Fundown Caribe and Massy Energy Colombia. Additionally, 150 families will be selected, with one representative per family, and will undergo a three-day training session.

Employment opportunities remain limited, but this project offers young people with Down Syndrome access to university life and training in administrative and service support. This enhances their competencies for successful employment. The project, developed by the Down Syndrome Corporation in partnership with the Colombian School of Engineering, El Bosque University, and EAN University, also fosters inclusive experiences for all students.
